(Washington, DC) — U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke is calling for a review of the conservation plan for the sage grouse. Zinke says the plan is rigid and doesn’t consider the needs of eleven western states inhabited by the ground-nesting bird. The review could lead to rollback of protections intended to keep the bird off the endangered species list.
