Utah nurse convicted of sexual misconduct against patients

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Jurors have convicted a 54-year-old Utah nurse of sexual misconduct against three women who were in his care in medical facilities in Salt Lake County.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Adam Tae Kyun Lim faces up to life in prison on each of two counts of first-degree felony object rape and up to 15 years on one count of second-degree felony forcible sexual abuse.

The verdict was announced Thursday, a day after three women testified Lim touched them inappropriately while they were hospitalized.

Defense lawyer Clayton Simms said during closing arguments that Lim was innocent and that the women were taking pain medication and could have been mistaken about what happened.

The trial considered charges involving only the three women but others have complained that Lim also violated them.
