Two Killed in Kane County Motorcycle Crash

ORDERVILLE, Utah-Per a report from Yvette Cruz of KSL.com, a Saturday afternoon motorcycle crash on U.S. 89 resulted in the deaths of a man and a woman, officials report.

The incident occurred roughly around 2:00 pm MDT when a southbound Harley Davidson motorcycle with two occupants rear-ended a Toyota Tacoma which was stopping to make a left turn onto Frost Lane in Orderville, per Utah Highway Patrol officials.

The man and the woman were thrown from the bike and died from their injuries, the UHP confirmed.

Authorities later identified them as 50-year-old Charles G. Rau and 44-year-old Renee L. Chartier, both of Kanab.

No occupants of the Tacoma were injured in the crash.

This resulted in the temporary closure of U.S. 89 at milepost 83 near Mt. Carmel Junction as authorities cleared the premises.
