Trail Mountain Fire continues to grow in Emery County

UPDATE: The fire has now grown to 16,837 acres on Friday, according to officials.

415 firefighters are working on battling the blaze and have gained 59% containment.

The fire continued to grow with only 10 percent containment on June 14.

Officials report over 9,554 burned Thursday morning. There are now 580 firefighters battling the blaze and an additional helicopter has been added to the efforts.

The Trail Mountain fire has grown to 7,154 acres on Wednesday.

A Type 2 Incident Management Team was brought in to relieve local resources.

A red flag warning is in effect throughout Southern and Central Utah on Wednesday and Thursday with strong, gusty winds in the forecast.

Containment on Wednesday is still at 10 percent.

The Trail Mountain Fire in Emery County is continuing to grow and crews have only 10 percent containment.

The Emery County Sheriff’s office reports erratic winds have helped push the fire out of the Mill Canyon and into Meetinghouse canyon. As of Monday, 2,637 acres have burned. That was updated to 6, 497 on Tuesday.

259 fire personnel are battling the blaze with five helicopters and 11 engines.

One cabin and an outbuilding have been destroyed and North Emery culinary water is threatened.
