St. George LDS Temple Vandalized Early Saturday Morning

ST. GEORGE, Utah (LDS Church)-Per an official statement released by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, early Saturday morning, the St. George LDS Temple was vandalized.

This incident occurred around 5:00 am MDT Saturday morning, resulting in the temple being temporarily closed before resuming its operations later in the day.

The perpetrator, identified as Charles Gregory Logan, broke a window and entered the temple.

He was on his way to the rarely used fifth floor and damaged furniture and art work on the walls on his way.

After causing some damage on the fifth floor, he was detained by temple workers until police could arrive, who booked him into the Washington County Jail at Hurricane.

Authorities found Logan guilty of disorderly conduct, interfering with arrest, assault-simple, criminal mischief and burglary of a non-dwelling.
