SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — An internal investigation into the chief administrative officer of a Salt Lake City suburb has found that his emails to a female employee crossed a professional boundary but did not rise to the level of sexual harassment.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports Matthew Huish was placed on administrative leave last month after the Sandy employee filed a formal complaint to the city’s human resources department.
The employee claimed Huish treated her in a way that made her uncomfortable.
The investigation conducted by an outside law firm found Huish’s emails to be “inappropriate” and “unprofessional” but were not sexual.
Huish, who manages day-to-day operations for the city, returned to work last week.
The city fired its police chief last month after an investigation into allegations that he gave women inappropriate hugs.
