Richfield Police seeking two after card skimmers put in gas station

Richfield City Police are searching for two men after card skimmers were placed over card readers in Maverik Wednesday afternoon.

The first man is seen in security footage placing the skimmer inside the store next to the till while the clerk is distracted by the second man.

According to Police Chief Trent Lloyd, the clerk was very attentive in realizing the skimmer had been placed shortly after the men left.

Witnesses say the men had weird accents possibly from the Middle East.

Authorities do not believe any card information was stolen, but they need people to check their statements and watch for any unusual activity on their cards.

Police believe the men also attempted to place the devices in Salina Wednesday, but were unsuccessful.

Other service stations have been contacted and police are asking for the public’s help in locating the men. Pictures are posted below.
