Power out in Wayne County due to wildfire

UPDATE: Power has been restored according to a spokesperson from Garkane Energy.

Crews are assessing the damage to see if any poles were damaged by the blaze. Power was restored around 1 a.m. Saturday morning

The Willow Patch Fire is causing a power outage throughout Wayne County.

Garkane Energy has one transmission line going through the area where the fire is burning in the Sand Ledges area East of Richfield.

As of Friday night, there is no timetable for when power will be restored to the 3,000 Wayne County residents.

Garkane crews are on standby to do everything possible to restore power.

According to the Sevier County Sheriff, they don’t know where the failure in the line is. A code red has been launch throughout the county, including Fishlake and Koosharem.
