Mormon Relief Society Head Gives Speech To United Nations

(New York, NY)  –  The head of the most visible women’s group in the Mormon Church is telling world leaders that faiths need to work together to help ease suffering around the globe.  Jean B. Bingham addressed the United Nations’ “Focus on Faith” forum yesterday in New York City.  The general president of the Church’s all-female Relief Society told the forum that charitable efforts are greatly reduced when groups and organizations try to solve problems on their own.  Bingham was named general president of the seven-million-member group about two weeks ago.Â
