Mink bounty added in Sevier County

You can now get money for killing feral mink in Sevier County

Sevier County Commissioners approved the bounty last week.

According to commissioner Tooter Ogden, they have been working on controlling the feral population for a while. They’re now hoping this bounty can help stop the feral populations from breeding and causing problems in the County and particularly in Richfield

“We’ve had situations where the mink have been up in Flying J, in IFA, garages, chicken coops and other places,” Ogden says.

Mink can be shot in the county, but not within city limits–where only trapping is allowed.

Each mink tail taken to the animal shelter will receive a $5 reward.
