Hundreds protest in Utah against Trump’s immigration policy

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Hundreds of demonstrators rallied in Utah over the weekend as part of a series of nationwide protest against President Trump’s travel ban on seven Muslim-majority countries.
About 150 people gathered outside Salt Lake City Hall Sunday, a day after about 100 protesters picketed at Salt Lake City International Airport.
Brittany Grimshaw was among those who organized Sunday’s hastily-called event. She says Trump’s executive order is “truly a Muslim ban,” not an immigration action.
Eight-year-old Will Jensen carried a sign outside city hall that read, “Refugees and Muslims welcome here. I love everyone.”
The directors of Sal Lake City’s two nonprofit refugee resettlement agencies said they were not aware of any refugees who were scheduled to be resettled in Utah over the weekend.
