Health Officials Reaching Out To Southern Utah’s Nuke Test “Downwinders”

(Cedar City, UT)  –  Health officials are reaching out to folks who lived in southern Utah decades ago during the Nevada nuclear tests.  Any “downwinder” living in southern Utah back in the 50s and 60s was exposed to radiation from 100 atomic bomb tests carried out in the Nevada desert near Groom Lake.   Staffers with the Radiation Exposure Screening and Education Program will be on hand to answer questions at a public meeting tonight at 6 o’clock at the Cedar City Hospital board room.  A second meeting is set for the night of March 1st at 6 o’clock at the Select Health Auditorium on Foremaster Drive in St. George.Â
