OGDEN, Utah (AP) — A 48-year-old former evidence technician has pleaded guilty to charges accusing her of eating and consuming methamphetamine while working in the Weber County Sheriff’s Office’s evidence locker.
Candice Barbara Follum pleaded guilty Tuesday to 20 counts of destroying or altering public records and 20 counts of possession or use of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor.
Follum will be sentenced Dec. 18 by District Judge Noel Hyde.
Deputy County Attorney Branden Miles says a plea deal recommends Follum serve to six months in full-time jail custody and six months on a work-release program during which she’d leave the jail to work during the day.
Follum was suspended and later terminated after sheriff’s personnel found her under the influence in the evidence locker last December.
