Sterling town billed their 24th of July celebration as the Greatest Show on Earth, and they didn’t disappoint. Towards the end of the fireworks display, a burning ember from one of the fireworks started the knoll west of town on fire. The fireworks display finished as the volunteer fire department rushed to control the flames. The entire north side of the knoll burned before the fire department was able to get the flames under control.
