Fire restrictions loosen slightly in Fishlake National Forest

The US Forest Service is lifting some fire restrictions in Fishlake National Forest.

The restrictions now include prohibiting using a fire outside a designated area. Smoking is also prohibited except inside a vehicle or building, or a developed recreation site.

The Forest Service is crediting recent precipitation for helping lower fire hazard.

Stage 1 Fire Restrictions will still be in force on the Canyon Range on the Fillmore Ranger District until September 30, or until rescinded.

Restrictions remain in place for the Canyon Range (Oak City).
