Drug bust in Sevier County brings two into custody

Two people are now in custody in Sevier County after a drug bust on Thursday in Richfield.

According to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, the Sevier County Major Crimes officers arrested Bret Zimmer and Staci Peterson–both from Sigurd–for suspected distribution of illegal drugs.

Multiple search warrants were issued for Zimmer’s vehicle and residents

About six ounces of methamphetamine along with heroin and marijuana were found during the search. Some baggies of mixed methamphetamine and heroin were also found. Large amounts of cash and firearms were also seized.

Zimmer was booked into the Sevier County Jail on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of Heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of Marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of firearms by a restricted person, and two counts of distribution of a controlled substance.

Peterson was booked into the Sevier County Jail on three counts of Distribution of controlled substance.

Charges are pending on other persons involved. At this time the case is also being reviewed by federal prosecutors as well for prosecution in federal court.
