Clocks running fast in Mt. Pleasant? This might be why

Rocky Mountain Power is working on a power line between Mt. Pleasant and Spring City in Sanpete County.  A diesel generator is being used to supply energy to the area according to the utility provider.

According to a tip from Dave Robinson of Mt. Pleasant, the generator is supplying more than the normal 120 kilowatts of power. A spokesman for Rocky Mountain confirmed some fluctuations in the voltage.

Because the power coming through the grid is more than the normal 120 kilowatts, some electronics may run faster than intended. So a clock may run fast or a solar panel may not work properly.

Rocky Mountain Power hopes to have everything back and running off the power line before Memorial Day.
