Boil order issued in Sevier County Town

Boil order issued in Sevier County Town

Officials are warning residents of Joseph Town in Sevier County to a danger in the Town’s water supply.

A boil order is in place until further notice. Officials will know more on Saturday, according to Mike Grimlie from the Central Utah Public Health Department.

Grimlie says the water tested positive for E. coli Wednesday evening. They are now trying to track down the source of the contamination.

Two samples 12 hours apart need to come back clean before the order can be lifted.

Residents should  boil the water used for food or drinking for at least one minute.

Grimlie says extra caution should be taken for the young, elderly and those with compromised immune systems.

Joseph is the only Town affected.

Grimlie says no one has reported any illness associated with E. coli.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
