MT. PLEASANT, Per an official report from the Facebook account of the Sanpete County Sheriff’s Office, a 66-year old male was pronounced dead in the Mt. Pleasant area as he had an ATV accident Friday.
The sheriff’s office states the incident occurred in the Aspen Hills subdivision above the city of Mt. Pleasant.
First responders were dispatched to the scene and at the scene, the victim was pronounced dead and transpored off the mountain by Sanpete County Search and Rescue personnel.
At this time, the sheriff’s office stated it will not reveal the victim’s name, but the ATV rider was alone at the time of the accident.
Family members began to become concerned when he did not return to the property, causing them to search the surrounding area.
He was found by a family friend who informed authorities by calling 911.
