3.3 magnitude quake reported Sunday in southwestern Utah

CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) — The University of Utah Seismograph Stations has reported a minor earthquake in the southwestern part of the state.

Seismograph Stations officials say a magnitude 3.3 quake occurred shortly after noon Sunday.

They say the epicenter of the shock was located in the Cedar Valley, six miles west-southwest of Enoch and about seven miles north-northwest of Cedar City.

The earthquake was reported felt in the vicinity of Cedar City.
There’s no report of any damage or injuries.

Seismograph Stations officials say that since 1962, there have been 34 earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater have occurred within 16 miles of the epicenter of Sunday’s event.
