13-year-old boy dies at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park

The Utah Division of Parks and Recreation is investigating the death of a 13-year-old boy at the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park in Kane County.

According to a press release from the Department of Natural Resources, the boy was riding a four-wheeler with friends and family on Thursday evening. After he went over a dune and tumbled down the other side multiple times, he was transported to the park’s visitor’s center.

Kane County medical personnel performed CPR, but the boy was pronounced dead before Air Med helicopters arrived.

The Utah State Parks expresses their condolences in a press release saying, “our thoughts are with the friends and family of those involved in this tragedy.”
